Despite the benefits of breastfeeding, breastfeeding mothers encounter numerous challenges in daily life. Below are some examples: 

• • Unsupportive work environment 
  • Inadequate breastfeeding friendly public venues in the community for mothers to breastfeed anytime, anywhere 
  • Unpleasant experience when breastfeeding in public, such as unfriendly stares. Some mothers were asked to breastfeed inside the washroom, at a different location, or even asked to stop breastfeeding 

We encourage all members of the community to offer support to breastfeeding mothers. See Chapter 2 and 3 for our suggestions.
