Chapter 10. Storage of Breastmilk

In theory, breast milk of the same temperature can be warmed together. However, defrosted frozen milk may develop a soapy odor due to the natural breakdown of milk fat by lipase. While the milk's quality is not significantly affected, some babies dislike this smell. Therefore, it is recommended to warm defrosted milk and refrigerated milk separately. If your baby does not like the taste of the defrosted milk, add refrigerated (4°C) or fresh breast milk to neutralize the flavor, which reduces the chance of having to discard breast milk. 

Yes. Breast milk left at room temperature for over four hours is not suitable for consumption. 

  • There is no significant difference in preserving breast milk nutrients between glass bottles and BPA-free plastic bottles.
